Sheep Tagging
All lambs are required to be tagged with a visual tag at birth, if you are keeping the animal for more than 10 months or sending the animal for slaughter then you are required to fit them with an EID tag.
The AGRITAG EID tag is a development of our successful one-piece loop tag. It is very lightweight making it perfect for newborn lambs. It uses the same proven locking system as our one-piece loop tag.
As shown below this type of tag is usually fitted under the front of the ear and flush with the top of the ear giving this tag design a minimal chance of snagging. The video on the right gives further guidance on tagging and reading.
The AGRITAG EID tag has a large transponder read area meaning that you get quick and easy data upload when reading on the farm or at market.
For simplicity you need only one applicator for both the EID and Visual Tag.
The AGRITAG EID tag is available as either the electronic tag for double tagging or as the electronic slaughter tag. This product has a 5 day lead time.
